A Thousand Clowns

After his large success with Rawhide and his contract with the series ending, Jim took a job in a theatre for the summer of 1965, playing the starring role in “A Thousand Clowns”.

A boy between the ages of 12 and 15 is needed to play the nephew of James Murdock in the Cherry County playhouse's third comedy of the summer, "A Thousand Clowns."
The Broadway hit, playing at Cherry County July 27-August 1, is the story of a bachelor uncle. Jim Murdock - "Mushy" of the Friday-night TV western "Rawhide" - who tries to get his precious nephew to lead a life of independence and individuality.
Auditions are being held in the Cherry County Playhouse office at the Park Place at 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Sees TV Star Son in Stock - Mrs Faye D. Baker of 1610 N. Lee and Agnes Threlfall of 206 E. Jefferson returned home Sunday night from Traverse City, Mich.
Mrs. Baker went to Michigan last Thursday to see her son, James Murdock (better known as "Mushy" of the Rawhide TV series) in a summer stock production of "A Thousand Clowns"
Mr. Murdock returned to Los Angeles Monday after the show ended a the Cherry County Playhouse.
