When looking through newspapers, I kept coming across a plot point being that Mushy’s father ran a barber shop, although this is never actually mentioned within the episode.

This is my absolute favourite Rawhide episode, as well as it being the first Mushy centred story! The episode puts all of its focus on building the character of Mushy, with making it clear he wants to impress people, like his mother. As well as this, Mushys mother tells Wishbone that her son is “different” and “slower than most”, with it most likely taking until he’s 30 to be “fully grown”.
